A creative and intuitive journey with horses — featuring Painting Your Horse Spirit, reflective herd time, equine sessions, self-care, and deep spiritual connection.
A Creative and Intuitive Journey with Horses

Step into a deeply restorative horse retreat nestled on a beautiful private horse farm in Sherborn, Massachusetts, where creativity, intuition, and authentic connection unfold through the quiet wisdom of horses. Held during the beauty of early October, when the surrounding trees begin their annual transformation into shades of gold, crimson, and amber, this intimate retreat invites you to step away from the demands of everyday life and reconnect with your inner wisdom in a peaceful, sacred setting.
Led by Kathy Pike and supported by two experienced assistants, this immersive retreat offers several guided experiences with a remarkable herd of eleven horses, intuitive painting, guided meditations, animal communication, and opportunities for quiet reflection and personal renewal. Surrounded by rolling green pastures, ancient trees, and the gentle rhythm of the horses, you will enter a contained and nurturing environment intentionally created to support healing, creativity, and spiritual exploration.
The Heart of the Retreat: Painting Your Horse Spirit
At the center of this retreat is the transformative process of Painting Your Horse Spirit. This guided creative experience is designed to help you access deeper levels of intuition, awaken your natural creativity, and develop a meaningful relationship with your Horse Spirit Guide. All while the horses are close by.
No painting experience is necessary. This is not about artistic technique or creating a perfect painting. It is about allowing the wisdom you receive in the presence of the horses to move through you naturally and find expression on the canvas.

Why Horses?
Horses are deeply intuitive beings who naturally invite us into greater presence, authenticity, and emotional awareness. They respond honestly to who we are beneath the roles we play and gently encourage us to return to ourselves.
Throughout this retreat, the horses become quiet teachers and trusted partners, helping you reconnect with your intuition, deepen your emotional awareness, awaken creativity, and experience a profound sense of peace and belonging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Artwork by Johanne, program assistant
Do I need painting experience?
No. This is an intuitive creative process rather than a technical art class. Every participant, regardless of artistic background, is guided to paint from the heart rather than the mind. Consider it a freeing up of latent energy, tapping into your own intuition, and an expansion of creative expression. All painting materials are provided.
Do I need horse experience?
No previous horse experience is necessary. Every equine experience is thoughtfully guided. The horses meet you exactly where you are, and the creative process is designed to help you trust your own intuition rather than artistic ability. Kathy has led many people through this process, and combined with the horses, the results can be transformational and life-enhancing.
