The EFLC Level Two Inspired Leadership with Horses training program is part of the full Certification Program. This program provides coaches and instructors key activities to create unique opportunities for clients to evolve leadership skills while interacting with horses.
Horses and Leadership
Authentic leadership requires a person to develop trust, timing, communication skills, and vision. One must learn to respect one’s instincts, listen to one’s higher wisdom, and lead from one’s heart while at the same time nurturing the well-being of others. Successful leaders require these skills to excel and accomplish their life purpose, mission, vision, or goal while guiding others to do the same. Integrating horses into this process provides an incredible new level of growth for business owners, managers, executives, parents, and anyone in a leadership role who wishes to experience accelerated learning in leadership and relationship development.
Facilitating Coaching with Horses sessions are designed to enhance leadership skills, combine achieving higher awareness levels, and the deep integration of the mind, body, and spirit to manifest generative co-creative success. There is no better teacher than a horse to accomplish these goals.
Equine Facilitated Learning and Coaching (EFLC) Level Two– Inspired Leadership with Horses
This training program involves a dynamic process of building leadership and self-awareness skills through horse-human interactions. You will learn to utilize specialized activities that enable your clients to identify and shift limiting thought and behavior patterns that have, until that point, prohibited them from developing genuine, trusting relationships and, ultimately, achieving the success they desire.
Why Horses? Horses are wise mentors in this unique type of work. As prey animals, their “flight” instincts become instant mirrors and non-judgmental feedback mechanisms for humans. A horse will subconsciously sense and respond to a person’s intentions, emotions, and thoughts through body language. With your guidance, your clients will learn how to communicate more effectively, face their fears and manage their feelings, and become more consistent and congruent with their actions.
Imagine the tremendous confidence boost from learning to connect with and direct a one-thousand-pound animal while standing on the ground. Sessions with horses are highly interactive and provide an in-the-moment learning experience and teaching skills, which can be challenging to acquire in more traditional settings.
Philosophy The Level Two—Inspired Leadership with Horses training program teaches facilitators and coaches to bring their clients in direct contact with a horse to discover and uplevel their leadership style. Through processes that help them understand the nature of a horse, clients learn to pay attention to subtle body language, listen to emotional messages, focus on clear thoughts, and build confidence in achieving a goal. This integrative and spiritual relationship-building approach gives more immediate and lasting results in life and business than any traditional type of coaching.
Horses are intelligent, sentient beings that know how to play without creating harm. Scientists consider that playing is a complex exchange between beings only seen in relatively intelligent animals and humans. To play successfully, one must fully understand how to communicate and gracefully insert oneself at appropriate times to continue the exchange and dance of energy. There is great value in experiencing play that focuses on the quality of interaction and the results produced. This training program will teach you the coaching skills to bring your clients to more significant self-awareness and engagement in new behaviors.
During the Level Two– Inspired Leadership with Horses training program, you will:
- Learn five different types of coaching with horses sessions.
- Receive direct mentoring with Kathy (ten live zoom meetings over 12 weeks).
- Understand the critical distinctions and coaching approach between active and reflective sessions.
- Prepare your horses to be fresh (versus over-conditioned) for EFLC Active Sessions.
- Make distinctions between emotional processing versus self-empowerment with your client.
- Incorporate safety protocols to respect and honor the horse and client.
- Practice timing and cadence for coaching your clients into higher levels of leadership.
- Learn essential coaching skills to empower your clients.
- Gain access to online training modules and done-for-you client worksheets.

How to Attend
The EFLC Level Two is included in the yearlong certification program and is available to all enrolled students. The training program includes ten weekly modules with videos, audio recordings, documents, and other resources in a Member’s Only Area. Kathy Pike provides ten live mentoring calls to ensure the highest quality experience and integration of the work.
