The Diamond Sparkles of Fall
Posted by: | Comments
There are certain things in the world that fill me with peace and restore me on a cellular level, the deepest part of my being. The first, of course, is horses. The ocean, in any state of expression awes me. And last but not least, aspen trees, yellow from the cool autumn nights, elevate me to a new vibration. You can imagine the joy and deep gratitude I feel when I get to experience two of my favorite things at the same time!
Last weekend I was gifted with that. For two days I rode horses through the golden sparkling aspens in the high mountains of Colorado. The afternoon sun soaked through the leaves, filtering golden light onto Read More→
Interspecies Comfort

Sunday I took this photo on my way home from driving the horses in the mountains. I glanced to my right just in time to see it and had to turn around to get the photo. The two stood together while I snapped away with my camera. The donkey slowly lower his head to eat his food, keeping the cat balanced and snug on his back. He even took a few steps around the paddock! My heart was so touched by this interspecies friendship. (The cat is curled up on the back of an elder mini donkey.) How sweet!

Horses at the Ranch
The winter has provided me time to focus on my horses. Sylvie and I are taking dressage lessons. She is a powerful young spirit and is eager to learn and understand. Her body is filling out nicely for her four years of age. When our hearts sync together Read More→
A Change in Season

2010 EFLC Apprentices Graduate!
Last week was a very busy week with the fourth Apprenticeship group finishing their yearlong program. I am trilled to know that these seven talented individuals will move out into the world to work with horses and humans in expanding consciousness. Congratulations to: Janis Charbeneau, Angie Deaver, Norma Hayhurst, Sandra J Howlett, Adrianne LaSalle, Rebekka Pertenbreiter and Cornelia Roulet.
We had such a powerful, deep, expansive and fun week together. Many thanks to my program assistant, Reggie Hausler, for all she contributed, and to Stephanie Brown who handled all of the logistics! Many thanks also to Cornelia Roulet for taking the lovely pictures shown below.
The quiet days following the program gave me a chance to reconnect with my herd:
Moon continues to be the older wise horse. I am always proud to be seated on his long strong back. As we climbed the hill behind my house the low sun’s beam flickered through the old growth pinon pine forest. Subtle and soft were the changes in the ground cover and low-lying shrubs at the top of the hill. Bright red rosehip pods contrasted with the sun washed leaves. After a week of work, Moon’s presence quiets my mind and brings me into my body and breath.
A highlight during the program was a profoundly Read More→
News About the Coaching With Horses EFLC Teaching Herd

Spring finally sprung here in the Rockies and then moved right into summer. We had snow on Tuesday and a sunny 80 degrees the last two days. I am excited for the upcoming Horse Wisdom programs and the long days of summer.
Here is an update on the Herd:
Sylvie
Sylvie, the newest addition to the herd arrived two weeks ago. The journey with her has already been interesting. I truly feel this horse picked me–twice. However I am not sure if either of us really understood what we were getting into. As a 3/4 Clydesdale-1/4 Quarter horse she is a beautiful big boned four year-old. Her experience in being ridden far exceeds any experience with groundwork. She is much greener than I originally thought.
I wish I could say we are sailing right along into a relationship based in unity and harmony. However we have not. Negotiations for lead mare began the second day Read More→
